Well, I have decided to change blog hosts, so this will be my last simply iley post. I was given an iPad for Christmas and whilst I love blogging, I can't blog using an iPad (I can, but with great difficulty and a lot of unnecessary effort). Apparently, Apple doesn't allow blogger (owned by google) to be used on the iPad, which is very annoying! So, as a result, I have developed a new blog through Wordpress, where I can upload images to the blog using my iPad. I have also changed the name to simply sukha. Please pop by and see my new blog at www.simplysukha.wordpress.com See you all soon!!

what I'm loving today

I love this bed - so simple & beautiful. The neutral colours create such a calming feel which I think is so important being that your bedroom is a place of rest and recuperation at the end of each day.

I also love this mirror - so beautifully striking. I am looking for a similar mirror for our bedroom & that mirror would be so perfect!

bali & lombok

This year I'm hoping Richard and I can take a short trip away to somewhere warm around July/August (by the end of winter I am always so desperately hanging out for the sun) and being that I love travel so much, I'm already on the task of trying to work out where we should go!

I adore Asia - the climate, the people, the food and it is so cheap (generally!), so I think we'll head that way.

I have been looking at Bali & Lombok. We haven't been to Bali before (everyone who has been has loved it) and Lombok is a little unknown, so that excites me.

I'm not sure where we should stay in Bali. At this stage Ubud appeals to me, but I'm not sure. Any suggestions???

I came across The Lombok Lodge located in Lombok (what would you do now days without Trip Advisor!) and I instantly fell in love. This boutique hotel looks absolutely gorgeous & it has only been open since June 2010. I think this is where we'll have to stay (now I just need to convince Richard!).

happy new year

happy NY! I wish everyone a healthy, happy & successful 2012.

merry christmas

merry Christmas!!! I hope everyone had a fabulous day, enjoyed large amounts of food (I certainly did!) and shared some quality time with immediate and/or extended family.

Christmas day is such a massive day, that by the end of the day it feels like a bit of a whirlwind. Always thoroughly enjoyable though.

I have only a few days left of annual leave and I'm back at work (quite depressing, but I'm trying to not think about it!) and the weather in Melbourne is improving every day - beautiful clear, blue skies. In light of this wonderful weather and the fact I am on holidays, I thought I would post a few images which, for me, signify summer. Oh, I love summer so much!!

travelling around the world on a budget

i don't really talk much about travelling on this blog, although maybe I should, being that I love to travel and I adore googling boutique hotels around the world (I have a list of places I want to stay at!).

My sister mentioned a blog that she has started to follow called snap and blabs. This is a blog about a family travelling around the world on a budget (how amazing!) and at the moment, they're 254 days into it!

So many people live their life by what they think is "responsible" or what they "should" do, but I am so inspired by people who follow their dreams, take risks and live the life they dream. We only live once!

The snaps and blabs adventure is incredible and anyone who loves travel and dreams of packing up and travelling for a while (I still tell Richard we'll do this one day!!), then this blog is worth having a look at. Very inspiring - just beautiful!!!!
