I just love these rugs from Anthropologie. The patterns and colours are so eclectic.

fred shand

Fred Shand recently developed a range of rugs and pillows for Anthropology and I absolutely adore them - I couldn't help but show you her creations!

Fred worked closely with artisans from Delhi, London and New York to design each piece. Perfectly designed and created, each rug and pillow is beautifully unique - the colours and patterns work so well together - I haven't seen anything like them before.

I can't stop looking at them! They are gorgeous!

france

My sister has recently started learning French and it has got me thinking how wonderful it would be to spend three months living in France, learning the language and experiencing the "French lifestyle".

I have to admit, I'm not entirely sure what the "French lifestyle" actually is!, but I picture waking up in a gorgeous French villa, riding my bicycle into the town in the morning to collect croissants for breakfast and bread for lunch, enjoying a lovely, long breakfast, followed by a long lunch a few hours later (with a glass or two of wine, of course!) and then a nap in the afternoon, followed by dinner.

I know this a fantasy and that the majority of French people don't live like this everyday, but it sure would be nice to experience this for a few months in one's lifetime! I think it's the simplicity that I am drawn to and being able to enjoy the scenery, food, wine and quietness that the French countryside has to offer.

I think this will definitely be added to my bucket list!

today I'm thinking about lights

I often think about what type of lights I'm going to have in my house one day. Should I choose something different in each room, or should I stick to a certain theme? (It's funny the things one thinks about - this would never enter my partner, Richard's, mind!).

There are so many beautifully designed ceiling lights available now days. Lights can really make or break the look of a room, so I think it's so important to get it right. Chandeliers are classic and can look absolutely stunning, but a simple light hanging from the ceiling (similar to the below image) is also gorgeous.

What are your thoughts?

cococozy

I just came across this amazing new online shop called COCOCOZY.

Coco (her nickname) has produced her first line of beautiful fine linen pillows, knit throws, window coverings and unique finds. I particularly love the geometric prints, which are available in a mix of colours.

Not only does Coco have great taste, but what I admire mostly is that, like myself, she is not an interior designer or decorator but rather, Coco is simply following her passion for homewares and beautiful pieces, whilst working full-time in a completely different area. Very inspirational!

Coco's shop and blog are definitely worth visiting. All the best Coco!

suzani craze

I know suzani textiles have been popular for a while now, but I still can't get enough of them. Beautifully created with amazing colours, suzani throws look fantastic on any wall, floor or bed.

A couple of months ago I came across L'Aviva Home, who sell stunning textiles (including suzani textiles), objects and dowry's. It's definitely well worth checking out their website.

Another great store is Material Recovery, from Etsy. Material Recovery perfectly pair antique textiles from Central and East Asia with vintage and antique furniture to create unique and stunning pieces to fill one's home. (I have my eye on a few of their lamp shades!!)

Anyway, enjoy looking at the pictures and browsing the websites. You will definitely add a couple of pieces to your "to buy one day" list!!!
